Default 4x4 E4OD trans issue

just bought 95 f150 5.8 e4od 4x4. i bought it because it was suppose to have a bad trans. when i went to get it i drove it home and it was shifting fine, no issues when it was to flare from 1-2 shift. put 200 miles on it no issues, smooth, firm shifts. i stopped at a stop sign and when i took off from stop trans felt soft and was slamming in gear, no flaring. possible electrical/sensors? Leaning towards. mlp sensor (a.k.a. park neutral switch). thinking this because when i maunally shift to 1 selection feels much firmer and not really soft. any suggestions

On these trans is a shift solenoid that needs adjusting you need a special piece of test equipment for it typically. Take it to a trans shop if it went to long without proper adjustment yes the trans is shot and has to be rebuilt.... Also have them check the valve body.

The E4OD will prove reliable with nothing more than a E4OD valve body recalibration kit and a "low pressure drop" auxiliary oil cooler (an OEM auxiliary cooler, if installed, is usually adequate). electronic transmission control system (which provides complete control of all transmission shift points, as well as torque converter clutch operation and part-throttle shift firmness).

ok, i have no idea how long this has been an issue. it was sitting in in the previous owners garage for about 3 years. and when i went to pick it up with the intent that the trans would end up shifting funny it was acting ok so thats why i was thinking its an electrical/sensor issue.

If it the box that is connected with the column shifter, that is the box that i think is causing my issue

Don't know if I can help any with this, being new to this same strange phenomena, but take it from me....you will need to get a rebuild or another one!!! My poor little fat girl is still sitting where the tow truck left her because they left her in disconnected neutral, doomed to collect parking tickets. Even if I get under her and re-link it, it will still sound like a pipe bomb while shifting gear and stall in reverse.
SAVE UP THE MONEY BRO!!!
