Default 4x4 conversion?

I have a 1996 f150 4.9 straight 6 2wd. My buddy bought a wreaked 1993 f150 4x4 5.0. He just wants the motor and I could have all the 4x4 stuff to convert mine will it fit and bolt up to my4.9??? Need help

65Mechanic has a thread on his swap. Pretty much a bolt in, if the parts truck is the same wheelbase then absolute bolt together.

Be sure the axle ratios are the same, or you will end up swapping out the rear axle too.

Even if the wheelbases are different you could always have one of the driveshafts cut down at a machine shop to fit...had to do this when I swapped my Cherokee to 4x4 and it cost me all of $50.
