Default 4wd conversion automatic hubs question

Ok so yesterday, I installed my 4wd axle (axle only still looking for my drivetrain) i enguaged my auto locking hubs by hand spinning the diff (where driveshaft would go). I heard/felt the click on the drivers side and that wheel bagan to spin without rim/tire. I put the rim tire on drivers side and set it down. I kept spinning driveline and felt heard another click. Asked my wife and the other side began to spin. So here is my question. I drove it today (slow took it easy) it did not feel like I was fighting the front axle in turns even sharp turns. And when I backed it up 10 feet (more than once for good measure) I did not hear/feel the click of the hubs disenguage. What do you guys thin?

You don't have any power to the axle, it's not going to do much of anything. It still has a differential for turning and without a driveshaft hooked up it's not fighting anything.

How did you fix the radius arm?

If I'm not mistaken, the driveshaft must turn the same time as the wheels, for the hubs to engage. So you probably have to wait until you get the driveline to get test results. could be wrong

I felt heard and saw the hubs engage. I spun the would be driveshaft and heard felt thd driver side enguage. Then put the vehicle weight on it to stop it and kept turning until I felt heard and saw thr passenger side engage. Maybe I didn't fully engage them.

imho, you won't get a true test result without the drive line.
