Default 40/60 bench seat conversion

Will a 40/60 bench seat out of a 98 F-150 work in my 96 F-150? I know I'll probably have to make brackets or drill new holes in my floorboard, but what I'm really asking is if the width of my seat is narrower or wider than the 40/60 bench seat out of the 98 F-150. Hopefully they're both the same width.

Lol. The seat is an hour and a half away from me, so that would be alot of gas in my truck. Surely to god someone has done this conversion before. Lol.

Go to the 98' section, and ask someone to measure their seat for you. Lots of helpful types around.

it will fit. you'll have to fab up some brackets though. i put one in my old truck so my wife could drive it since she was to weak to move the whole bench seat. they were out of a 2001, and it had the highback with the little head rest. and the seat belts built in.
just like these

Thanks doooooood! My bench seat sucks and I want some kinda console. It sucks not having cup holders or anything. Those little consoles from advance auto aren't worth a penny.
