Default 4,9L Specs

I need ideas for new old 300, just want to see some really good numbers

I have a 300 in my baby now, thinking about buying another 300 so i can build one while i still run my truck. CAn anyone tell me stock compression for a 87 300? Has anyone had head work to bump up compression and bigger cam, what kinda gains have you made? noticable torque gains. I just wanna make crazy torque numbers.

wont happen....

the head is very restrictive....the stock is 8.8:1 compression...they make cams but high compression or even flat tops are hard to get...

in order to get a good quench with a flat top you'll need the longer 240 rods and 351 pistons...

Probably around 8.5 or so. Search google for 300 -6 performance, you could probably find the specs and stuff to make more power.

performance is not in the 300's category lol sounds harsh, but they really dont make any "performance accessories" for these trucks....these motors were built with enough torque to pull a tree out of the ground, and as much horsepower that a stock 2.2 4 cylinder cavalier has, literally! oh yea and when i say performance accessories, cold air intakes and bolt on accessories don't count

1st give us a year of engine and/or truck then we can be more specific...whether carb or fule injection makes a big difference in the way you can approach the build...

Slap a turbo on there....8.8:1 is perfect compression for one. Haha jk it'd be cool but I'm fraid the head would hold you back. It would have some mad torque though.
