Default 390 Swap

All right this might be a dumb question but I've been wondering how difficult it might be to swap an older 390 (carbed) into my '88 F150 2wd.

Thanks, Mike

Why 390, do you already have it? If not, stroked 351w would be easier.

It's easier to swap from fuel injected to carburetion, but it won't be emissions legal so you won't pass smog inspection.

Yes i have the 390. If I did it can it be done to pass smog inspection or does it just not pass.

not sure about Alberta, but most states require engine swaps to be the same year or newer than the chassis.

Exactly, it just won't pass. It doesn't even matter if the new engine runs cleaner, it just won't pass.
