Default 351 Motor Question

Here is the deal guys, I bought a 93' F-1 with the 351W in it and it had a bad rod knock. Tore the motor down and it had been rebuild twice (Pistons are .6 over) Therefore, bad block now...I have found a crate motor for sale on CL that is a year old but they had it in a 69'. Could I just use the short block and bolt on the necessary stuff to keep my fuel injection in this situation? If I should be asking the seller for any information to get off of the motor, what would I ask them to get and where would I apply the information to see if it will work. I am thinking I might have a problem here with the 2v and 4v, but this is really a new subject for me. Let me know if you wouldnt mind. Thanks.

I don't think it's gonna work... Your 93 will need a lot of emissions stuff that a 69 won't have ports for. You could build it up with fuel injection, but all of the emissions stuff will either be a chore or impossible. (unless the motor is meant for a newer car and had been mounted in a 69 car)

I would check with a local engine overhaul shop for the right scoop. I would believe the block would work, heads are a different story.

Default Block Worries

you can use the short block, the heads are where the emmisions are at! The old heads are plugged in the back, but the newer ones have the exhaust tube running behind them that goes into the EGR. It's better to have an older block anyway cause of the higher nickle content making them stronger. Hince the 68-69 351W blocks are around the best around. That's what I was gonna build my stroker out of for my stang.
Here's what ya want
69 351W block .30 out to 358
E303 camshaft
1.73 roller rockers
AFR 205 aluminum heads
TFS F/I intake
long tubes..... and watch out!!!!
