So I went out and tried to retrieve codes again for a KOER test after I ran it around town a little. It displayed the engine ID, I stepped on the brakes, and it didn't continue on?

Hmm that's unusual. Nothing I can think of for that but to try again. You can pick up a code reader for the old system at Autozone for about $30. That might make it easier for you. Otherwise all I can say is read the sticky and make sure you are following the directions closely.

I was actually at autozone last week looking for one. Ours does not carry one. Bummer but there's only like 5 other auto parts stores in town
