Default 302 swap

I have a 88 F-150 5.0 with a blown motor and was wondering if a motor out of a 94 with the 5.0 will work. The 5.0 out of the 94 is mass air flow and i won't be converting that over. I just want to change out the lower and upper intake and use the factory wiring harness on the 88 motor. I also know that the firing orders are different but i can swap the distributors around to fix that. Will this work? Any thoughs i would like to hear thanks.

Dumping the MAF? What are you thinking? That's the biggest perk of the swap! Your also giving up sequentially fired injection when you decide not to go w/ the MAF! I'm going to be shelling out $700. + to upgrade my 87' to MAF/SFI!

Yeah what he said!

I take it the truck was converted? Those didnt come from the factory with maf so it has to have been. You'd be crazy not to switch that with the motor, that opens up tons of possibilities for upgrades.

Not all of em are but I've seen a few.....my 95 is MAF.......I'd keep the mass air, you'll get better power, performance and you can do a few tweaks without pissing it off. Also, the Gen9 intake design is slightly better flowing than the one that's on your truck. Swapping the distributor won't change your firing order....you have to swap the cam to do that......

Oh my bad....I didnt think any of the 94s had maf, thought they started putting it on in 95. Wish our 94 250 auto had it.

How are the plugs different........I can totally understand not wanting to jump into something you have no clue about.......I'd highly suggest selling that MAF setup....you will more than recoupe your money...there's 500 bucks there easy.

I suggest you do some reschearch before you blow off the MAF. Is the transmission on the 94' AOD? If it is, send me the harnesses, including for the injectors, The MAF setup & computer & I'll send you a C-Note! I'll pay for shipping too!
