What he said....might wanna pull it off and give it a good cleaning with some brake clean. Its on the side of the butterfly valve, just two bolts to take it off and the wire harness. They were bad about getting plugged up with carbon and whatnot, never hurts to clean it up.

i am not for sure if its the same problem as me, but in my 1990 5.0 I start it and it runs high for about a minute and then goes down and runs, but right when i put it into gear the truck shuts off. he said idle off and i dont know what he meant by that. but mine shuts off and i have to put it back into park and start it back up, but it will not do that again all day unless the motor gets cool. this happens EVERY SINGLE time i start it when its cold. it sucks. ???

On the drivers side on the air intake & it looks like this:http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=39 (also called IAB/Idle Air Bypass + 8 or 9 other names) This link is a must read!
