4wd 250s had leaf springs, 2wd 250s have coil springs. if you want a heavier duty axle just get a 78-79 44 axle.
you gotta also think, if you put in a 10.25 rear end, your back axle will be running 16" rims and a 8x6.5 bolt pattern to your fronts 15" rim and 5x5.5 pattern.
anymore questions just ask, i cant remember what other questions were asked.

the 44 is the front axle, you just use a 10.25 in the rear. my friend was just explaining this to me last night because i cant justify a D60 swap with it costing around 1k.
he said to just buy a 44 from a 78-79, and swap the hubs from my D50 so i can run my stock rims.

I don't know that much about them honestly I was just reading other people's conversation about Kingpin axles and such. I only have 2wd so it doesn't concern me much xD

lost my Car again...
whats so great about kingpins? they ware out over time to right? I hear a bunch of off roaders wanting the king pin style. why? I know where i can get a set of 79 axles cheap. if not free. would it be worth the swap in the long run?

kingpins use a metal "rod or rods" instead of ball joints. kingpins are what the semis going up and down the road use on the front instead of ball joints. but there are some draw backs i guess, i cant remember off hand right now though.

I have a 92 f150 4x4... So, to swap my front from 3.08 to 3.55, can i just find a front differential with the guts still in it, and take the axles and hubs also and just throw that in my f150? Or do i have to take the full twin trac. Beam off the donor truck as a full assembly and swap it that way? The rear is an easy swap, I already know how to do that. I have the straight 6 with e4od and 3.08 gears. Stupid setup, but the truck was free since my grandpa left it to me when he died.
