Default 1996 speedometer gear?

ok well got a 96 302 auto with 33in tires and the speedometer is off i would say about 5 at 50-60 mph so at 50 i would be going about 55 it also jumps some times at higher speeds to a lower speed then jumps back... and i read that there is a little gear in the diff that you can change out to correct this but i dont know a site to buy them and i dont know which one to choose.

any help would be thankful!

You are speaking of the Vehicle speed sensor in the rear end. Autozone or Advanced Auto has these. That is not why your speedo is off though. You need to recalibrate for the tire size. I made a post about it. Search the forums for Speedometer Recalibration and you should find it.

ok i a bit confused... in the link you gave me the equation gave me this

20186 / 33 = 611.70

611.70 / 66.66 = 917

Thus for 33" tires, the calibration number is 917

but in this link

http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...ND_BRONCO.html

it says this

33x12.50R15LT/C 636 = 859

so i dont know what Calibration number to go with

The dealer will recalibrate it for you for a nominal charge.

Don't fiddle w/ it till you get your **** straight exactly how to do it. It only allows recalibration so many times.
