Default 1996 Brake Problems

Hey ya'll i've got a 1996 4.9l and i've got some brake issues. so, the brakes are not kicking in until my foots on the floor and even then i feel like im holdin it back not really stopping it. i could really use some help thanks.

first simple question, is your brake fluid full? im barely low in my 96 and my brakes dont work the same.

Maybe a busted brake line, or the brakes need to be bled.

if it was a busted brake line it should throw a code. i know mine did when i had even a minor leak.

Rear drum brakes? self adjusters not working. Very common WHen you are stopped apley e brake and see if the pedel dosent come up if so you need to service and addjust rear brakes.

Check everywhere for a wet line, even if the back brakes are shot the fronts will stop the truck, or you are low on fluid, or your front pads are worn.

Yep ABS light comes on almost immeadiately when brake line is busted
