Default 1995 ignition switch removal

I need to remove the ignition switch in order to remove the top plastic cover over my steering column. I plan to Google for this info but this might offer quicker and more knowledgeable method. My old 89 I think it was key in, turn to acces, and push a retaining pin up to slide out. I can see a pin from the bottom side that holds the switch in but it will not push up. I tapped lightly with a punch but do not want to break anything either. What do I need to do?

Got er pulled....plastic cover off and back in. Shifter in ...hmm P or D...one of the two to remove. Found part of my sloppy shifter problem once I could see down in. Two torx screws hold a clamp that had a plastic/nylon sleeve under it. Well, the sleeve had slid out and down so there was extra play in things. Got it back in place, just not sure if it will stay or not.I think the lower portion has the same thing...and it feels loose there as well.
