Default 1993 Startup problem

After sitting for a night or even sometimes half a day, i will go start the truck up, but soon after starting up it will start coughing almost like its not getting fuel, then it will die if the peddle isn't pressed down softly. Could this be fuel pump? I have replaced the fuel filter, plugs, dis cap, wires and use both fuel tanks and both have the same problem. 300 v6 with 218k Any ideas?

It's a Inline six not a v6. And what's your fuel pressure? And are the pumps whining?

All three of my 300s past and present would do that when they wanted fresh spark plugs, Did you gap them to .044?

Probably the fuel pump, that's what it was with mine.

try the fuel pressure regulator, start the truck, leave it run till it gets warmed up, then pull the red vacuum line off the top of the regulator, if gas starts coming out of the regulator then it is shot, sometimes this takes as long as 5 or 6 mins.
