1993 4.9l problems
It's father in laws truck and has me stumped now. It was running just rough. So we changed rotor, cap, plugs, wires, iac, and fuel pump. It just died and now won't restart. With starting fluid it will till it starves. I have not checked fuel pressure yet but new pump figured it's good. Any ideas? If I unplug the iac and start it without spray it will start till it starves like on spray. Ideas? Thanks in advance
Go get a fuel pressure gauge.
You may have the wrong pump, or a faulty one.
Thing about your truck is it's a pre - 94 4.9. Your engine requires (bare minimum) 45 psi to run (it should be closer to 60 psi). Your truck is designed to run between 45 to 60 psi.
Below 45 psi it will starve for fuel.
Mid to late 94 and later 4.9's as well as all the V 8's operate at 30 to 45 psi.
You can see how the wrong pump could cause a problem.
Get a fuel pressure gauge and make sure you have enough pressure before you do anything else.
It could possibly be that simple - you wouldn't be the first to have the issue.

AFTER checking for proper fuel pressure, if this is not the problem, then verify correct voltage on your TPS, .9-.97v closed 5v WOT with a smooth increase as you open her up.
