1992 A/C problems
My truck's A/C compressor will engage within 3 minutes of start up when the engine is cold. It will keep running and blowing cold air but after the engine is hot, running for 15-20 minutes and shut off, the compressor will not engage after restarting the engine. I can let the engine cool for a couple of hours and the compressor will engage within 2-3 minutes. The Auto Zone kit's gauge showed the low side pressure in the 'red' zone. I've read lots of threads that state these gauges are less than accurate, but could there be too much pressure in the low side?
need more info....
do you want it on? or no? it will run on Defrost and the AC... if it doesnt start as soon as there is power than one of the cut out switches is bad... there is one on the low side of the Dryer and one on the high side close to the pump... you can test them with a test light.... if there is power to the switch there should be on BOTH sides when the AC is on unless freon is low then the dryer side will cycle..
the low side should be on right away...
