I've got a 2011 FX4 Screw 6.5' bed ECO with about 25,000 miles on it. I average 13.8 city and about 19 mpg highway at about 77mph. I have had it up at 26 mpg making a 2 hour drive at 45 mph (That road sucked!) As of right now I don't have any performance upgrades, just a tonneau cover and that doesn't help with milage.
I did notice that my milage did seem to get better over time. So that's my opinion, give it time! I will say towing long distances with the ECO sucks. I pulled a 27' enclosed car trailer loaded full of furnature 4.5 hours down the interstate at 65mph and got all of 9 mpg. Most the time now if I tow anything its my father's 23' Jones Brother Center console.

You, sir, are wrong.
My pics display the miles and mpg, so just showing average mpg alone doesn't mean anything. I can reset it and coast down a big *** hill and have it read 50mpg, you wouldn't be able to call my bluff because I didn't prove how far I went on that average.
Think before posting, don't embarrass yourself.
I can see that I was mistaken by joining this discussion. Here's why. I thought that it was about helping each other IMPROVE mileage. But, I see that it is not. It is about calling others out for no real progress or forward movement in improving all of our mpg.
When you make statement like the "pretty green bar", it proves that you don't value it's power and benefit. That screen is the most important of all of them. It helps you see how your driving style and terrain or route choices relate to the reference point if avg mpg since you LAST reset it. Knowing the incredible power in that information and change to behavior, why would anyone want to cheat themselves by resetting it to make a fake point on these boards. C'mon man! You have to see that I'm right about this and your not helping the cause if really helping each other improve fuel economy. It is why we all bought the Ecoboost, isn't it?

You are contradicting yourself. You said, "I wasn't calling you a liar you misread", yet I told you my mileage and told you that I would have no reason to reset because why would I care.

I'm already loathe to keep the dash on that screen. I have to go 30-40% slower than the normal flow of traffic to just keep the pretty green line above 16mpg. Takes the fun out of the truck is all it does for me! For some people, all the "good behavior" possible will do squat in terms of getting better mileage, though.

Now. As for the fun. Absolutely, it does take some fun out if it knowing what feeling the turbos kick in does to mpgs and that's okay. It just helps remind you to not always be pedal to the floor and use gravity and momentum sometimes:-)

I hate to ask, but exactly how did I contradict myself? This subject seem a bit too cut and dry for someone to mix up their own comment... I'd love to know.

"I never suggested you were lying, you took it that way... "
Then you spent the next two days stating that I was "bluffing" and probably coasted down a hill, etc.
So, you either are suggesting a lie or you are not, either way, what have you contributed to help others improve mpgs. I've made three suggestions that really help me. Either help others or stop badgering and wasting everyone's time.
Tips:
1. Constantly display instant MPG screen as it helps you reference your current driving pattern against you average since last reset. NOTE: Don't cheat and reset at top of big hill.
2. Analyze the routes you pick by the terrain. Shorter may not mean better. A small increase in distance may increase your trip distance by 5%, but, you may see an mpg increase of 20% over the entire trip to compensate.
3. I've found the sweet spot for mpgs to be between 45-65 mpg. Anything over 65 hovers very close to my overall average.

This was a 50 mile drive home from the dealer, cruise set at 57 mph, 60 degrees, flat roads, no wind
This was the end result of a trip back from the cabin, approx 85 miles at 63 mph, remaining miles was at 73 mph.
This was the first leg of the jouney posted above, at 63 mph.
