Please refer to the curves a couple of posts North of yours.

There is essentially no turbo lag as you can see. There is a bit of TBW delay, but all of the engines deal with this.

This is like staring at the proof of 1+1=2 and vehemently debating the answer is 4.267.

Be happy with what ya got.

I started out to ask a question got some good feedback came to a conclusion after driving all of them, now it is just humors to hear all you EB guys get you panties in a wad over what I said I felt. I never said the 5.0 was faster or even felt faster. I said they all felt about the same. Maybe my Dyno butt is not as in tune as most. It may be that I had heard so much hype about how impressive that motor is and I was expecting to be wowed and I was not. It was not as impressive as I was anticipating it to be. Yes it is a power house from a 6, and I hope they continue to improve the motor.

This came from pickup trucks.com But in our tests, we've also repeatedly clocked the 5.0 with faster zero to 20 mph starts before EcoBoost really turns on the power from 20 mph to 60 mph. Slower zero to 20 mph times could also be caused by turbo lag, not torque management.

This is what I meant when I said both v-8's put you in you seat as soon as you hit the throttle. First impressions are normally lasting ones.

Oh, now I get why you said what you did. You WOT tested them only. Man, I must be a grandpa driver since I usually never WOT to 60 on take offs in normal driving. I find it odd that so many people test WOT take offs on new truck test drives instead of how the truck feels when they drive like they normally do 99.9999% of the time. The power feeling of the Ecoboost that everyone talks about is not in the higher rpms, it is between 1,500-4,000 rpm where you normally drive on a daily basis. Part throttle acceleration is what sets it apart. How fast the Ecoboost picks up speed with just 15% throttle pedal input versus 15% in the 5.0L makes a major difference in how the truck feels. As I said before, WOT between the two and there doesn't feel like there is any difference even though the stock track times prove otherwise. Drive them like you normally do and their is a very big difference between how each pulls at a given rpm and throttle input.

Most of what he is feeling is the effects of the Drive By Wire(DBW) system the throttle is on. I can blip the throttle on my completely stock work EB and the rpm needle would hardly move while doing the same on my tuned personal EB will cause the rpm to jump while the truck starts to take off. Tunes fix a lot of this lag/reaction time in the throttle that people feel when stock. What makes it even worse is on a brand new truck with an unlearned transmission strategy. I have been meaning to make a short video of the difference between a tuned and stock EB's reaction time when I got a chance. I guess I should do it soon so we can finally put this to rest.

As per 5 Star tunings explanation on their website

"The F150 3.5L V6 suffers from poor throttle response down low. A custom calibration will have enhanced improvements in better throttle response, step on go pedal, vehicle will respond quicker…this DBW system is a torque driven system, it works by taking a certain amount of torque via engine and wheel and applies it to what the driver foot say it needs; a better way to explain it is its a torque limiter. It only allows so much torque at a given pedal position. Stock tables are conservative and numb at best and that’s why one would feel sometimes a lag or a goofy pedal with DBW systems. For a 3.5L V6 this is one of the most critical areas that must be addressed and modified to generate more torque /hp and throttle response. By reworking the OEM strategies makes your 3.5L V6 come to life!"

Yeah they did not have a tuned truck at the dealer for me to test drive. When I got in the truck at the dealership the salesman said pull out and pin the throttle so that is what I did. Not how I would typically drive but he'll it was not my truck. And I did about a 15 mile loop in the truck. Next time I guess I need to test drive a tuned EB to get the proper feel of it.

I tuned my Ecoboost and the turbo lag only got worse.
