For the price that I paid for my fully loaded 2010 Raptor scab, equaled the price of a fully loaded Fx4, so I'm not to much worried about the gas prices, we're going to pay it any way! But now I got a town and mudd'n truck all in one!

I realize its not just shock, what i was getting at to be more blunt is if you would like to pose as a raptor and get 20mpg put a few bolt on parts on a stock f150. Do i think becasue of the price of gas they will put the 5.0l into a raptor . No.

On the other hand i could take me $30k stock f150, put 20 grand into it and out perform a stock raptor. Sure the frames not wider, warrenty, etc.

It would be nice if they offered the 5.0L in the years to come, but I don't think they will! It would be cool if I got 20mpg, but I knew when I bought it it won't going to be real good on gas, I still get between 15 and 16 in the city so I'm happy! We all have different things we want to so to our trucks, but alot of it comes down to time and money! I figure after the warranty runs out, then I'll look at doing some Mods! It had about everything I wanted when I bought it, so I'm super happy!

It's not all suspension travel if you bottom out your sixteen inches of travel and your frame isn't strong enough to take the remainder of the force guess what? You need a new truck to but your bad *** suspension on.
lol https://www.f150forum.com/f38/raptor-frame-bent-101631/ Yes the raptor is nice, but its not the end all of off roading. A standard 4x4 f150 can be made to outdo the raptor. However it will take much more than shocks, and a boat load of cash

Haha yeah that's pretty insane what happened to those raptors.

But my main point in the statement was your last two sentences. You can make anything outdo the raptor if you throw enough money at it, but for the price that you pay to own the Raptor vs. 4x4 you are way behind and even further when you throw more money at it. Especially when u consider you could throw that same amount of money at a raptor and still be better than the standard 4x4.

Along with the steering being electric. Did anyone also think the 6.2 is a iron block. The 5.0 is all aluminum. Idk about u guys but taking a hot engine and driving it into a big *** puddle. I would think the aluminum wouldn't last too long doing that. The ecoboost no way in hell.

My personal opinion.

So, I guess you also shouldn't get an EB in the FX4 or for that matter any of the 4X4 version trucks???

Or, is it that only the Raptor can be taken across puddles in the road, or a not so dry stream bed, or on a slushy-wet snow covered road??

Yeah, I'm with Norcal

An Aluminum block is not a problem.

Dirt Bikes have aluminum jugs, and I've gone in pretty deep water and even wrecked/layed them down in water. No problems here.
