I think anything will bend/break when abused............. and M1A3 tank with scream across the desert at 40 mph and its suspension will absorb all 70+ tones of force but eventually things break. The raptor that competed in the baja was a stripped down version probly weighing hundreds of lbs less. Is it an issue I dont know but its not surprising that it happened. More time will tell. I dont know if its an issue that people are taking these trucks out and treating them like **** day after day after day............ maybe they took 4ft jumps instead of the 3 ft jumps or perhaps they were loaded down while on there little trip to the point it caused an over loaded situation............... ANY THING could have done this.

Highcenter it ?? Shouldn't the frame bend the other direction?? If u lift a truck on a hoist (not drive on ) and watch the box to cab flex it is scary.

Wow that's an interesting read for sure. Yep I wonder if ford will have a recall for everyone to bring in there trucks so they can weld a piece of plate to box the frame. I can't believe it's not fully boxed back there. Wonder how they plane to address this for the 2012 model if at all.

I think that one root cause of the problem is that the frames on modern trucks are designed to crush to absorb impact. Strong in vertical direction, built-in weakness in horizontal direction.

Not normally a problem, but the speculation is that the Raptor suspension/bump stops might be applying torque at just the right spot to cause an issue.

News flash: it's not a trophy truck. It's a damn F150 with beefed up suspension.

the only problem is we need more data like how many high jumps has it done if its like 100 -150 then its fine but if it was like 10-20 then there is a problem anyways if somebody plans on taking a ton of offroad trips they might want to build a race ready trophy truck not just take something off the shelf and go run the baja1000 that truck wasnt made for constant abuse just some abuse

And stronger axles, stronger brakes, stronger frames(still true even though this thread is about bent ones), stronger supporting suspension components, stronger CV Axles, better CV joints, wider stance, shorter wheel base, taller tires, stronger drivetrain, high speed ELD, offroad mode *take a breath*.....
but yeah other than that it's just beefed up suspension on a regular 'ol F150... Can hardly tell em apart

The sarcasm is strong here but I mean no offense.

That is crazy! Personally I would never spend the money on a raptor because I couldn't abuse my truck off road, but if I spent the money on one and this happened I would be pissed! The resale value on all those trucks with the bent frames is going to make some guys regret trying to make such a heavy truck fly like a dirt bike.
