I also saw a thread in the 09-present threads where someone installed a switch on the mirror to turn the camera on and off whenever you want, it looked awesome.

Did you have to cut the wires on the camera so you could put a video rca end on it or did it come with rca end on it? Is it an aftermarket kit or a factory ford camera emblem i found a factory one on ebay but i have an 05 crew cab and wasnt for sure how to hook it up to my aftermarket head unit with rca hook up. The complete install looks great but it does stick out a little. So how did you finally run the wire through the tailgate?

I'm wiring a back-up camera on my '06 XLT and want to have it switch on when I put it in reverse and also anytime when I flip a switch.

I will be using diodes to accomplish this: Here is a drawing I made to illustrate.

The question is what size diodes will I need?
