Not sure about the Edge, but I have control over shift firmness and shift points on my Superchips Flashpaq. If you're worried, you can set the tranny changes to stock, and just use the modified F/A tables for engine performance.

I just purchased an unlocked used Superchips Flashpaq 1815 for my "mild" 4.2 V6 2005 STX...

You can adjust the shift firmness with the edge evo that's one of the main reasons I bought mine. By the way I put mine on at 145000 and haven't any problems yet
