Oh no, you better not remove a fuse or disconnect a battery without your dealerships permission! You'll void your warranty or worse possibly fix your own problem saving yourself money!! Proceed with caution.
Have you tried different wires on your iPod? Also try swapping the usb 1 and usb 2 (where you did the mod) wire see if the problem follows

I didn't try swapping out the wires or removing the fuse. However, it did start working again today via USB2.
