5.0 vs 3.5 Eco towing

I drove both motors back to back today, non-towing, and I liked the 5.0 more. I did like the low end of the Eco, but the 5.0 wasn't anything terrible at all and held speed a little better for some reason.
I'll pretty much buy whichever motor comes across at my price point and options first though lol
I'm curious on OP's towing though with new truck vs his now old 5.0

if you put a 3.73 or a 3.97 ( thats what my friend says is in his truck. ) under a 5.0 it would also do better..but that was not Fords plan in order to promote the Eco-boost line. I have noticed with my 5.0 that the shift pattern is off and once past 2-3 it has power but seems to be holding back.
I always wanted to new Coyote motor and it looks great in the engine bay.

Ok, after towing with the new truck(6600lb travel trailer). Yes the 3.5 does it effortlessly and I am intrigued how it will tow at elevation. But, with the lighter weight of the 2016 it was not as stable as my 2014. Although my 2014 FX4 with 5.0 and 3.55 gearing did great down south, towing with the EB and same 3.55 gearing felt more relaxed and capable. Before you bash, I loved my 5.0 and everything about it, but for towing the EB does it easier. If you will not tow heavy or at altitude either engine is great. But if you tow heavy or at altitude on a regular basis and don't want an F250 an EB may bridge the gap for you.
