My uncle has a 2013, my dad has a 2012, and a couple guys at work have 2012s, all with the 5.0, and after listening to all of theirs mine was definitely having issues. This new motor is much quieter so I'm back to actually enjoying my truck! (well, except for the sync, of course!)
Glad you got it fixed!☺

I partly wondered if they failed, and if so how, because it could help a lot to point towards the issue depending on how its failing.
My sister had a Mercedes car that made a lot of loud banging sounds.
Mercedes-Benz dealer kept telling her it was fine.
A few months later the crank failed.
Hard for them to claim it was always fine after it got towed to them with the crank broken.
He car was 17 months old when the crank broke.
Services done on schedule at the dealership.
Later she found out that the dealer just brushed it off anx never actually reported it to Mercedes-Benz themselves.
It should have been reported and wasn't.
Her car was fixed free of charge and Mercedes apologized to her.
They said they were never made aware she was having any issues.
The dealer is supposed to report things like this to them, but some dealers don't.
I think the lesson here is if the dealership says no stand right there in their service department and call the customer service number in your owners manual. If Ford, Mercedes or whoever is getting a call as you stand in the dealer, and the dealer has not made the manufacturer aware, the dealer is probably going to be getting a stern talking to.

When I worked at a dealership we had to report all not normal reports of things by customers to Honda.
I did, but 1 guy was lazy and didn't as it was extra work.
Some dealership employees are as useless as gluing a plank to a lawn chair.

Mine was eating eating approximately the same amount of oil and didn't start making noise until 90,000 miles like tapping a nail on a coffee can at idle, when they first disassembled it the notice a couple worn crank bearings only then they found the cylinder issues.

I'm on my third engine, the second one was bad from the time it came in and the third one lasted a mile, before the knock came back. Ford has done nothing to help me been without a truck since March. Going to Chevy

Wow! This is unbelievable. I am sorry to hear that, how does that happen. Were these factory Ford engines or remanufactured? And were they long blocks or short blocks. I can understand making the change after 2 more replacements. I keep getting calls from my local dealer wanting me to trade and I haven't even looked, they just look at my service records where i have good miles on this 12' at 44,000 and all oil changes under 5000 miles like clockwork. I bought this truck to keep, but what you have experienced Ford should offer to buy your truck back as a lemon. At the very least they should give you something to drive, thats taking care of the customer.

They were remanufactured long blocks, the dealership gave me a truck to drive, but ford motor company wouldn't do anything. The dealership couldn't even get results, and I believe them since I tired to contact the regional manger, he's worthless. Won't even return my call.

If this was under your factory warranty you should be getting a factory crate ford engine, not a remanufactured one. I don't know if you have a extended warranty or on the 5/60 factory or aftermarket warranty, but i have heard some getting remans and some factory ones.
