Gents....in past we have found that the rep system is more abused than used. We are looking at some other options...one being a "Thank You" button for people to hit when they are given good advice.

Any system we put in place though, can have some draw-backs, or an ability for people to abuse it.

It sounds like you have given the rep system some thought. Since I bought my F150 and became a member on this site, I have received some good advice and so much help. No matter how you were going to decide I will be here. I have more things I want to do to my truck. This is a good place to get answers. People are right not everyone has the right answer. Some ones idea may be good for them but not for someone else. When I come up with a statement that doesn't apply it get's (or worse) handled or ignored. That's life.

Options are good! I'll be the first to say the Rep. Vote System has some potential for abuse.

Free will is alway's a dicey call as to predicting the end result of how a system eventually settles into play.

Personally, I don't want to be known as the guy who helped bring the
"Rep. Vote Circus" the the Forum, if it end's up being a "funky white elephant"!

I've seen it work well at one Forum, but the horror stories concerning other Forum's cannot & should not be ignored!

Options are good!

Good Choice in my book; I don't want people to be afraid of posting due to a chance of negative feedback on a pts system...

If you feel strong about something then go with it, we are mostly all adults here and if we take bad advice then we should be old enough to deal with it;

lets face it, you wouldn't take the advice if you didn't think it sounded good in the first place
