Default Engine sub-forums

Just wondering why only the 8's are covered in the engine forum.
I even entered 4.2 in the search window and got no hits in the engine forum.
So what I'm wondering is why not create sub forums as you have elsewhere, for the different engines. Since this site also hosts an older truck forum for the 87-96 trucks which have the Inline 6(undoubtedly one of the best engines Ford ever built) and the Windsor block engines.
Perhaps it could be divided into 6cyl & 8cyl sub-forums.

I'm sure lot's of thought goes into the layout of this site and perhaps it's been brought up before, but thought I would bring it up.

I was going to bring this up a while back when I noticed it only showed 4.6 and 5.4.. when you also have like 460, 400, 390? for the older trucks.. And then the i6 and stuff.

I think the sub forum is a good idea.

I don't even go into the engine forum because it doesn't show the engines I'm familiar with. You could get some pretty good information on specific engines with sub-sections like that. I would suggest to eliminate the engine section and do engine subsections in each forum with engines specific to those years.

I hear ya Sean....I'm familiar with all the older engines too.
Though I now have a 4.2 in my truck and would like to look at related threads.
I think though that if it was in an engine forum vs. the generation forums, you would obviously find that the traffic there is interested in talking about engines in general, or even a particular engine as in my case earlier. Threads can get buried in the pages pretty fast and with so many topics that people post about in the generation forums, I think more technical threads will get buried quicker than say threads about the latest mods.
Just my 2 cents

I'm mostly in "87-96" or "off topic". I don't like to sift through a bunch of questions that I don't have answers to so certain questions I could answer I don't see. The engine sub section in each particular forum would get more traffic from people like me and give several other choices in your particular section. I think the main engine forum would be better changed to the lowered trucks forum, the 4x4s have their own section on the main page.

Maybe there could be links in both sections to the same forum.
However, whether it(we'll say older v8's for example) is a sub-forum of your 87-96 forum or a sub forum of the engine forum, It is still for all intents and purposes it's own forum and you would have to navigate to that forum no matter where it is if you wanted to check out threads on your particular engine. The number of clicks depends on where you are.
Well, in any event, perhaps it will give the admin staff something to ponder.

Okay I've set up 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder sub-forums.
