This is what I went to and most of the guys here. The cable I got from ebay is not listed at the moment. You don't need to keep switching from ms to hs with this.

Mine originally had 5553 but if you change it to 5753 you can view text and change nav street address while in motion. But doing so I lost the travel link which I don't use so doesn't matter to me. This was on the xda thread.

Checksum:
Last two bits are checksum in hex. If the checksum is higher than two digits, only last two digits are the result. For example:
7D0-04-01 0103 0200 00E2
07+D0+04+01+01+03+02+00+00=E2

if you manually change any of the values you need to calculate the last checksum bits to equal the new setting.

Default Heated steering wheel default setting

The double-honk & heated steering wheel options are built into the newest FORScan version PIDs. Besides that, we tested the built-in PIDs of FORScan and manually tested other things with mixed results and we're still at it.
I hooked up everything today with the newest version of ForScan, specifically to turn up the temp on my steering wheel, and I noticed that it was already on the high setting. Is this the default setting? Have any of you looked into this as well and seen the same thing?

I didn't change anything since apparently I can't make it any hotter.

I'm sure when I did mine it went from warm to hot setting.. Maybe they got so many complaints they now set it to hot at the factory? Build date?

But that's discourageing if yours was on hot and you still aren't happy..

Thanks again. So my next question is: Does using this via iphone vs pc FORScan software limit the functionality? The app reads "lite" which generally means it is limited. Sorry if I'm asking questions already asked. Just trying to figure everything out. http://forscan.org/download.html
