Sounds good. I'll just give up. Meanwhile, we will avoid rain.

Seriously, I'd like to give the dealer a chance. This is our first ford ever. We had very few issues with our comparable GM (200K+ miles) and only switched due to GM dealers not wanting to sell their product. Wife loves the truck. I have a company vehicle so I don't get to drive the f-150 much.

We will work with what we have. The no rental hurts us a lot since we live 40 miles north of the dealership. Again, we will give them a chance.

Just posting here for advice and to document what we are doing. Maybe it will help someone else.

2015 F-150 Lariat with moon roof purchased new in December.

Found water last week 4-13-16. Truck sitting in a parking lot for work all day. Floor mat has considerable amount of water. Seems to be dripping from the A-pillar behind driver side dash. Decent amount of water behind dash. Hard to see, but very wet to touch on the surfaces up towards the top of dash. Brought truck to dealership 4-15-16. Woman at counter stated they cleaned clogged drain tube. Paperwork from issue states no clog found and no leaks on cowling, windshield or moon roof after water testing.

4-18-16 more rain and more water. Same deal. It is scheduled to go back this Friday already due to the plastic panels hiding the bolts for the grab handle being broken and attempted to melt the panel back to the plastic clips. We informed the dealership of there also still being a water leak.

I opened and investigated the moon roof and it's pretty dry up there. Checked around the windshield on outside for anything unusual. I did not look under the hood or around the cowling.

Water leaks can be one of the most frustrating problems to properly diagnose. You can water test an area and find no leaks but did you test at the right angle? The right pressure? For the right length of time? It's very hard to say. What you are describing sounds very much like a cowl leak. Water runs down any path or channel it can so a leak that starts in one spot may not appear near there, it may show up in a completely different area. Always avoid statements like "water is leaking from my moon roof" because that's where they are going to look. Instead let them know "I see water in the driver's floorboard after hard rains" or something similar.

It sounds like that is what you told them and they checked the most common, clogged drains at the moon roof and the cowl. Unfortunately, it may take a while to find. You can water test your vehicle with a hose and spend more time than most technicians feel they can. If you do, do the test in sections. Start at the lowest possible point that the water could come from (the highest point you've actually seen water) and test the immediate area. If you don't see any water continue testing different areas. As soon as you see water note where you were testing and communicate to your service advisor where you sprayed water and for how long before the water appeared.

Sorry you are dealing with this but these are often hard to find.

Good Luck!

Dealer was able to see the truck today. They confirmed that the windshield was leaking. I will have to bring it back tomorrow. (hopefully they have the parts). Very frustrating to say the least. New truck with less than 1000 miles on it.

5th visit the dealer sent the truck to a glass shop who resealed the windshield.
That was over a month ago. The truck has now sat in the rain about 4 times with no leaks.

I just experienced this today. I guess I will need to take it in to the shop.
