Water Leak in Driver Footwell

Just picked up a 2016 XLT and loving it. My first Ford in 20 years. It rained pretty hard today while my truck was parked outside. When I hopped in and left the parking lot, I felt what seemed to be a cup of water splash across my left foot. I then looked under the dash and noticed some water drops dangling below. I am having a hard time determining how this water entered the cab. Has anyone else run into this?

XLT so no moon roof to leak right?
You didn't drive it so water was just dripping in?

Normal answer would be windshield seal leaking. Most common cause.. After moon roof..

But might also be cowl - firewall - fender joints not sealed right. There was one post on this but I think it was on the passenger side and water was in the rocker panel not dripping from dash area.

You can get a moonroof on the XLT.

Update: Looks like he found the other thread!

Ok then we wait to see if he has one.. And if so we will send him back to dealer to get the A pillar drain tube connected..

Thanks for the reply. No moonroof. I have not driven through any high water either.

Most likely leaking at the cowl.

Driver side leak

Sorry if this is wrong thread. I did search and this a seemed most relevant. No intention of taking over OPs thread.

2015 F-150 Lariat with moon roof purchased new in December.

Found water last week 4-13-16. Truck sitting in a parking lot for work all day. Floor mat has considerable amount of water. Seems to be dripping from the A-pillar behind driver side dash. Decent amount of water behind dash. Hard to see, but very wet to touch on the surfaces up towards the top of dash. Brought truck to dealership 4-15-16. Woman at counter stated they cleaned clogged drain tube. Paperwork from issue states no clog found and no leaks on cowling, windshield or moon roof after water testing.

4-18-16 more rain and more water. Same deal. It is scheduled to go back this Friday already due to the plastic panels hiding the bolts for the grab handle being broken and attempted to melt the panel back to the plastic clips. We informed the dealership of there also still being a water leak.

I opened and investigated the moon roof and it's pretty dry up there. Checked around the windshield on outside for anything unusual. I did not look under the hood or around the cowling.

They will give the same response they have been giving since these trucks came out: "It's working as designed, stop bothering us."
