sorry guys but im more than likely gonna be in the oil industry and the oil industry is huge in Texas so its nice to get cheaper price at the pump but if it goes to low the plants wont be making enough money for it to be worth it to stay open and will start shutting down which is not good for the economy here, I know its hard for yall to get but if Saudi keeps lowering the oil prices to under 40 dollars a gallon it has a lot more affect than just prices at the pump

I agree with Flareside, this has more to do with Russia and its relationship with Syria. The Saudis trying to pinch US production is just an added benefit. Study the Shiat/Sunni issue and that's the answer to the oil glut.

So... more of us, US citizens (and Canadians too), will benefit from lower gas prices than those that will benefit from keeping US oil fields producing at the moment. Why not buy up all of there cheap oil right now and save ours for when the camel jockeys run out of dead dinosaurs? Seems to me it's a win/win situation, some people may be laid off now, but when the situation starts to turn full circle the American companies will be making more money, thus, theoretically, be able to pay it's workers more.

Seems kind of selfish to want everyone to pay more so a group of people in one line of work can remain employed, also you aren't even currently in that line of work. Lower fuel prices save us money at the pump, the grocery store, on shipping costs, and just about every other thing that we pay for.

do you have any idea how many Americans are currently in some part of the oil field? ill let you look that up, and your saying you want to buy all there oil so we can be dependent on another country for something that is so needed in todays society, the people you say will just get laid off well guess what those people have familys and bills to take care of, so what are they going to do?? oh I know get unemployment and there goes all the money you think you just saved paying the hundreds of thousands of people in the oil fields bills and on top of that those men and wemen aren't gonna be paying any taxes on top of that, and that means someone else is going to have to make up for the hit on the economy, so then they will raise taxes and again money is getting taken outta your pocket, I know low gas prices are nice believe me I love it too but there is no way where the American tax payer makes out on this deal even if you save 60 bucks a month now at the pump

Default side note

People on unemployment do pay taxes. Just a side note.
