I have had a couple of dodges,(no 2500) won't ever get another one, had fullsize and a couple of Dakotas, they all just seemed to wear out earlier and cost wise they were more expensive to repair than my Fords, I am partial but would still suggest the Ford. Price seems a little high but if it is really clean maybe its worth it, one thing about older vehicles I have found is if things are still original once they start getting regular use you end up with all the nuisance maintenance and other general items needing to be replaced, while 25 to 100 dollar parts aren't much alone, once you replace enough of them it all adds up. 90s Fords around here are 2k to 7k depending on condition, and there is plenty of them.

I agree with what was posted above. The longer a truck sits, the more things will prematurely fail because it is not used. My 96 powerstroker was barely used after I got the 97, I just kept the 96 hooked to the trailer. I started driving it a lot last winter, the tranny went out, the a/c compressor seized, and some other problems came up. (tranny was cause it pulled the trailer so much, but im guessing sitting had something to do with it too)

If a car is sitting to long all you need to do to prevent issues is change all the fluids replace the rubber and hoses like the radiator hoses and belt. You should be good to go. Ford over dodge anytime besides the lower milage the better. It's hard to find something with low miles that's almost 20 years old.

Good point, well in that case might need to rebuild the transmission. Rear end ect.. Then again might be one of those drove it to and from church every Sunday. Driven just enough to get everything moving and the rubber swelled up and wet. But not enough to cause issues or alot of ware on components.

I could care less what an F40 Ferrari is worth, it's just a freaking car and I like my truck better.

Joke? Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. Regardless, it seems that it is routinely used by the majority, as a guideline...as a measure for sellers and buyers alike. I'm no expert though. Just trying to get the best value that suits my particular needs, time frame, wants, skills, and dollar. :-)
