The only inspection they've made is checking their bank account making sure your check cleared.

.
is there a difference in the filter from the factory and a one a ford dealer would use? I looked tonight cause I heavily contemplated pullin it off and seeing the condition of the oil inside...and it's a solid black filter...

Doesn't sound like a factory or a (motorcraft) filter a dealer would use.

So to the members that make short trips every day, would remote starting the truck and letting it run 10 minutes before driving help out any to prevent this situation??

The brand of the oil filter can reveal much about the previous owner re: where service was obtained. Many auto shops and oil change vendors peddle cheap, poor quality, imported oil filters with inferior specs and inadequate filtration media. I've seen used oil filters that required considerable online research to identify the manufacturer and any construction/performance specs. Some wholesaled for $1.28...absolute ineffective junk.

Did you run the carfax yourself or did the dealer already have a "doctored" up one ready?

Not that this dealer would be the type to lie and cheat.. about stuff.. 173 times...

Keep in mind that xx minutes of idle time may reflect that engine coolant temperature, as registered on your temp gauge. It is not the same as the engine's operating temperature. The latter requires additional time to attain.

The carfax was linked to the cars.com listing which also in linked to the original build sheet, which seemed more legit then some of the other doctored up history reports I looked st for some others.
