Anyone with those type of bulbs already installed, be sure to check and make sure you have the heat sinks fanned out to maximize that heat dissipation!
This is true that they should be fanned out. I didn't specifically mention it in my first post, but I figured the pictures I posted speak for themselves:

Another advantage that I did mention about these is that the heat sink strips are more than twice the width of others out there, making it much more efficient in dissipating the heat away from the bulb.

Ok I did it. Boy what a difference!
I took off part of the wheel well to do it. I did the high and low beams.
I had a problem with one of the canbus adapters. Turned out it was one of the prongs pushed out of place. I was able to fix it. One of the plugs from it was real hard to line up. I think because they are made for many vehicles the plugs are a universal type.
The beam is focused just like the factory bulbs.

Update to my installation. I cut a small slit in the rubber boot so that the ballast box thing could be outside of the headlight housing. the boots are fairly sealed but moisture has now got into both headlights. I think the best bet would be the extended boots

Oh no. I did the same thing.
Did you go through a lot of rain?
If not I guess I may try to put silicone around the slit in mine.
How much longer are those boots?
Do you have a Lariat?

Very interested in hearing more about this. Will be installing these lights today and am back and forth about the slit.

Brian, I put silicone on one side. I will see if it works before I do the other side.
Im not sure all the parts would fit in the boots.

the slit i cut is similar to this but only with the wires going through.

It has been rainy and cool (mid 30s in Detroit). I had similar bulbs for over a year with no issue but they were able to be completely fit in the housing with the cap. I ordered
these these
and am confident they should resolve it.
