It's definitely not meant to be "heat of the moment" type deployment.
every sane person would drive differently, postpone the trip or do anything else NOT to engage in a gunfight...

"riots on my way home? ... alright ... AR15 ready to go and next to me... let's shoot some bad guys and fight my way through!"

realistic scenario

Hey I'm not saying "LET'S GO MESS SOME FOLKS UP" -- I'm just telling you the logic I've seen.

I don't know, different strokes for different folks as they say. I think it's practical and tucked out of the way. If I have passengers in the back going to the range or where ever with me, a big pelican case would be in the way and/or sliding around the back floor.

Default Super Crew - DIY Verticle Rifle Rack

So here's a link to the <$50 Vertical Rifle Rack that I built for my 2013 Screw.
http://ricksreels.weebly.com/rifle-r...150-screw.html

And to give you an idea of what it looks like, here's a picture...

Rack in up position. With seats down, you are ready to hunt or transport.

Default L/H or R/H Seat Release.

I have a 2017 Lariat Super Crew and I had thought about how to release the driver rear seat, Also for gun carry and concealment. All of your solutions work but I wanted something that looks factory installed.
I found a company, Built Right Industries, that has in my opinion made a factory look seat release as if it had come from Ford as a factory option.
They can be reached at www.builtrightind.com. Hope this helps.

My truck accessories. I keep them locked in the steel box. Safest way to store firearms in the truck imo.
