Just food for thought, anyone else continues using racial slurs and I'm going to start handing out bad boy notices.

Get a TUFFY steel box and call it good. You can't go wrong.

Big Six, you are correct, if you wanted to remove the rifle mount or seat bolt, you would have to cut the cable. Not much of a concern for me, knowing most thieves that target vehicles don't have a need for or carry bolt cutters needed to cut the cable. And yes, threading the cable through clear tubing is a must (I did it with the rear seat back release latches) and it's very inexpensive. The cable, ferrules, and tubing to make at least four or five cable locks should cost less that $10.00.

I agree with your assessment of thieves who target cars. Most car thefts are "smash and grab" operations, and the perpetrators of these crimes are usually not toting a tool bag (perhaps a hammer, a brick, or a bat to break the glass, but little else). And, I also agree that the cables would be cheap to procure and to make. I hope that you did not interpret my comment as a criticism of your idea. I intended only to point out a factor to consider for anyone who may not want the mounts to be a quasi-permanent fixture... no more, no less.

Great ideas. Boosted that mount is cool. I just shove mine under the rear seat and on the rear floor board.

Well there is typically a few. All in soft or hard cases but only in the truck when going to the duck or deer lease.

Understood. Just the way you put it brought about the visual of a black rifle sliding around on the back floor board, banging into stuff. Struck me as funny. What's not funny is that there are people who actually do that kind of thing. Tragic.

Big Six, No worries brother!! I didn't take it in any way other than intended. We are all here to share ideas and I don't get offended easily. Let's just keep the ideas flowing and we might all learn a new trick or two!

I have the ARM15 setup and am very pleased with it. I'll post some pics later when I get access to my home puter. You may also want to look at this thread for an option for the seat release.
