I am becoming anti chrome with this truck. My last two f150's were chrome package trucks. And I am tired of looking at it and cleaning it. Planning on the badges and then maybe the special edition headlights. Or that film you can place on there and remove.

Yeah I am getting rid of all chrome. Two weeks will be getting my bumpers wrapped matte black and removing my side steps. Then my last chrome to remove will be the rims. That will be a while and an expensive one.

Take your time. That's number 1.

I removed all of the blue tabs on the back of the emblems to take them apart. Then I use 2000 grit wet sand paper and wet sanded everything. Then used two coats of black primer than two coats of matte black paint.

Putting it together I had some left over model cement glue that worked perfectly. Dabbed that in a couple of places and let it dry.

Haha! I meant, I think I was giving you pointers on doing emblems in another thread, because I've done so many of them. Or was that someone else?

Yeah... Give me a pack of beer and spray paint and it can't be worse then what they done...

Plus I was liking the mate black finish on it, they color matched it with a crap paint finish and they told me if I want the mate black finish back I should just spray some plasti dip on it.....thats a really stupid answer....

Robertc do you have a closer pic to show and the finish should look like!!

Thanks

Almost forgot... They actually don't paint the entire grille, they leave the back of it mate black so it's knda a two tone grille now.... Horizontal bar only are paint...

Sorry kinda hard to see on pics
