Personal preference but I really hated the powersteps.
I always had to side step about a foot out just to get in.
When it was only me I had the steps turned off.
Then I just unplugged the Drivers side so the Passenger side only worked.
That was short lived, Passenger side only worked for a few days after that.
Tried to salvage the Drivers side hoped for a little extra cash by selling them,
Not so much Drivers side locked up. To the dump they go.

Not sure of the brand Ford uses but the Amp brand seems to be a little more robust.

Liked the N-Fabs but Wife & Daughter had to hunt for the step to get out.
Also just didn't seem like a Harley Truck anymore.
Sold the N-Fab steps and bought the Ionic's.

I always liked the look of the NFabs, but they just aren't as functional for those that need them. The solid steps like what you replaced them with are much better. I didn't care that my truck had the steps until I injured my leg last year. Then they were a life saver. Especially if you are going to add lift. I never really used my steps until I added lift to the truck.

Most of all tho, my leather seat would be destroyed if I was always sliding off of it getting out. Even with a light breathable cover and the best conditioner, the side bolster is starting to show those white cracking lines slightly.

Good move. Personally would have purchased AMP steps as a replacement. At 6'2", I may not "need" them, but seats appreciate it. With a lift, the extra length closer to the ground is appreciated by the vertically challenged folks too.
Again, these are a more fitting style for the truck than the first replacements. Congrats.
