Do you have them on your truck? I had them on my last truck and they are great when raining or snowing, can still let in air.
Summertime can go in to work and leave window cracked to vent the truck.
You gave a choice? In channel or stick on outside?

I love them and have used them on every car I own for a while now. Even the clunkers lol. Like you said I leave the windows cracked a lot in the heat (and not worry about rain) and it can be great when driving on a warm rainy day to get fresh air with the windows down a bit.
I tried the in-channel ones and they did look nice, but I could hear my window motor struggling and I had scratches on the top inch or so of the windows from small dust/sand that got in there and scraped when I rolled the windows up or down. I tried wiping the channels clean every wash but it never seemed to help.
Now I only use the stick on kind. Never had any come off (even through years of auto car washes) so I'm not worried about that. I do get the low profile ones which I think look very nice, are still functional but don't stick out like my big ears do.
I had the low profiles on my 2007. They were great except when it comes time to clean the windows.........I do see they make matte black for my 2017, may go that route.
Love the vents and had them on my last 3 trucks. I prefer the in channel and have them installed on my 2017. Have had ZERO issues with the windows rolling up on auto. Did have some problems with my 2012 until everything finally settled in.
These are Weathertech....
I have a set of in channel, forgot the brand right off. There are two things I do not, like about them.
1) when I roll the window down they make a horrible noise like there is dirt between the window and vent - not matter how clean everything is.
2) when the window is down they are loose in the channel and make a noise.
