If you have a quality dealership, THEY will search for you. My dealer will go up to 500 miles for a dealer swap, and if the vehicle comes in and I don't want it, that's fine. No reason to drive to other states.
In my case they wanted significantly more $ for same vehicle.....while pretending there is no added cost for this service. They refuse to tell you where that dealer swap truck is located, in case u decide to go around them for a better deal.
Someone's gotta hotshot that truck to your dealer and return themselves to base.....thats added cost.
Still, check out every option at your disposal.
In the end it comes down to price no matter how the vehicle is procured.
The Ford site is searchable with little effort. Identify major cities fairly close. Get zip codes. Load the vehicle you're looking for. Change search zip codes until you find what you want. Each zip is searchable out to 100 miles. I found mine fairly quickly but enjoyed seeing what else was out there.
