That was a 4" to 5" MBRP tip. Held up fine, no shiny clamp either, but was pretty pricey...

Efan08,
Yeah, that clamp would be the first thing to get changed or painted!

johndog82,
I was only thinking cheesy, if the powder coat didn't hold up well.
I've always had duals that exited out the back. So I've never seen how well aftermarket tips hold up to the tire spray.
Also like you said, if it's a short tip, and you can see the stainless continuing on, that's a no go too. So painting it was a good idea on your part.

If I can find the motivation this summer, I'll probably just use high-temp paint as others have done on the forum... or if you have yours powder coated by then, then maybe I might have to copy you!
I'll keep you updated, if I figure out which one to get...
Definitely no chrome! Closest I've come to any chrome add-ons were the black chrome exhaust tips on the last truck.

My suggestion: Cut it off and dump it before the rear axle. Looks so much better without a visible exhaust, in my opinion.

Why don't you just paint your existing exhaust tip with some plastidip or high heat black paint? Much cheaper and would look the same as buying something aftermarket.

Well, I did that, high heat paint baked on. And after half the winter it looked like this. I will have to redo that come spring, and do it differently, I guess.

I dipped my stock exhaust tip, but found it to be a pain to take off months later.

Bought this one at AutoZone for like $29 and then used the high-heat paint to black out the exhaust. It's a bit dirty at the moment, but the paint, and the tip are holding up just fine...tiny bit of rust on the clamp/screw, but nothing a shot or two of paint can't fix, if it really bothered me.

I was thinking about that today...
I actually clean my exhaust with Eagle One rim cleaner when I wash the truck, so it looks new. Yeah.. I clean my stock exhaust. 🙄
It would be a breeze to paint it, since it's already clean...
