I installed a 28" oval Magnaflow Si/SO. I just put it in place of the stock muffler. It sounds nice at idle and when you get on it but cruising you can't hear it at all. I tow a lot so I needed something that wouldn't drive me crazy.

I went with this muffler. It sounds amazing. I too wanted my truck to sound good but no too loud. It's cheap and easy to install yourself.

Curious about the easy factor on installation. How'd you get the old muffler out? I need to replace my rusted out muffler and am not looking for anything special. Sounds like a good deal, just curious what i'd be getting in to.

Easy. It's has to be offset in center out (as shown). One piece of 2.5"- 18" length of pipe and 3 clamps. All from Advance Auto. I used a sawzall and I cut as close as you can at both ends of the old muffler. Everything lines right up no leaks. I clamped mine incase I ever want to replace it.

Small cased magnaflow will sound good but keep it from being too loud. The large case ones are almost too quiet.

This is what I put on the truck: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CNHE2C/

No highway drone, throaty on startup and when pushing the pedal down, but otherwise nice and manageable.

Plus I got mine for $97 shipped from the amazon warehouse.
