Default 275/60/20 vs. 275/65/20 all terrain tires

hello,
My name is Greg and I am new to the site. I am looking at getting bfgoodrich all-terrain ko2 tires for my 2010 fx4. I have recently put a 2" leveling kit on the front end. My big question is there a big difference between 275/60/20 vs. 275/65/20. It is almost a $50 a tire price difference. please tell me your thoughts. Thank you

A 275x60x20 is a 33x11 while the 275x65x20 is a 34x11. I think the 33's are a D rated tire while the 34's are E rated. The 34" will fill in the wheelwells in better on a leveled truck while the 33's will give you better fuel mileage and performance. Welcome to the site.

Thank you for responding .Any recommendations on what is a better choice to go with. Is the 1" going to be noticeable?

I think you have what may be the best AT tire in mind already..the BFG KO2. Every inch taller you go up with tires will look better but usually at the expense of loss of performance and fuel mileage. I went with a compromise tire a P275x60x20 Toyo AT2. (33x11) lightweight tire that offers looks and still retains performance and fuel mileage. Decent traction offroad too.

I have a 2011 lariat with a leveling kit and I'm running 275/70/18 and I think there's too much room. But that's my personal preference.

Ok,thank you all for your input. Now is just deciding if the exstra inch is worth the $50 a tire.

I've had 275/60/20 and 65s now. I think the extra inch is very noticeable. And the BFGs weigh nearly the same at those sizes. But like said the ply rating is different.

If you really wanted to keep mileage and performance and ride in line the Toyos that Pawpaw have are perfect for a bigger tire with pretty much no impact on truck. I ran a set and really liked them besides looking a little small with a level.
