both whips mounted thru the tonneau cover rail. took out one of the stock bolts and drilled it out a tiny bit and slid the adapter thing thru and as for right now i can unscrew the whip roll the cover down but soon im gonna cut a hole in the cover and stitch it so it doesnt fray
