Default Chasing speaker wires

I have found a good way to determine what wires go to what speaker.

If your truck is anything like my 88 some one has cut the factory plugs off the radio wiring. I found a color code for the wires and the negative wires were the same color for both the fronts.

To determine with one runs to each side you can use a aa battery.
Example, Say the positive wire for your left front speaker is yellow/black and the negative wires are black/white for left and right. You put the positive wire to the positive post of the AA, put one of the negative wires to the negative post of the battery. When the speaker crackles you have found the left side negative wire.

You can do the same with a multimeter set to the lowest Ohm scale. You will hear a crackling and can take an ohm reading as well.

With either method, in order to hear the sounds, you must repeatedly connect and disconnect the battery or meter lead. Dragging the wire across the battery terminal or meter lead works. If constantly connected you will not hear any sounds.

If one speaker is wired correct that the other is wired wrong then the speaker cones will not be in sync. One moving inward while the other is moving outward causing a cancelling effect.
If both are wrong then you would not notice much of a difference unless you add a sub.
