This is short overview on where I put my tach and how I ran my wire to the coil, the way I ran my power, ground wire, and light are irrelevant because I used my cb and fog lights to do those.
Ran with strap not permanent
where I went through firewall
Some background on how I plugged in tach because the pics are bad , I put a spade connector on the wire and smushed it with pliars so it was at a flat point and shoved it in the plug on top the coil beside the yellow wire .
This is for from the best how to but I hope it made enough sense to help others as I haven’t found great pics or info of this subject any questions just ask I’ll do my best to help
The dash harness already contains the wires for a tachometer, so it's very easy to swap in a factory tach cluster from a junker - it's PnP, if you get the tach cluster from a similar-year truck. '92-93 clusters are slightly different from '94-96: The speedo is easy to swap so you keep your original miles & calibration.
