Repair rusted roof pillar
Hello,
New to the forums, and a proud new F150 owner. I just recently acquired a 95' F150 XLT with 5.8L engine for an incredible deal. I began this week by tearing down the interior of the car. I plan on cleaning and painting the carpet, as well as recovering the headliner. Upon disassembling I noticed a pretty bad area of rust right above the drivers side door. It actually appears to have rusted through pretty significantly. I have attached a picture, but it may not be the clearest. Is there any recommendations on how to remedy this that doesn't require welding? I am mainly looking to neutralize the rust to keep it from spreading any further. Is it possible to use rust-oleum rust reformer and some primer? Or will that not keep it from spreading? Thanks for any help. -Thomas
