Default oil pump

brand new to this forum so if i’m doing it wrong i’m sorry. i have a 1991 f150 5.8. i thought the oil pressure dash gauge was bad because it would read fine then go all the way to low. changed it to a mechanical gauge today. (well the shop changed it). drove it home and noticed that gauge too would only read between 0 and 10. the lifters just recently began tapping and seems to be a knock coming from the bottom end of the motor. also the clear tube going to the gauge has no oil running through it. my question is.. bad oil pump?? any help is greatly appreciated
