Hello All, New to the group so bare with me navigating through the thread.

I recently purchased a 2010 F150 super cab, 4wd, with the 5.4 motor. The gentleman i purchased the truck from had recently purchased the truck himself and decided it wasn't what he was looking for. When i purchased it from him he did mention the remote start didn't work but wasn't sure why. At the time it was no big deal, however we have cold weather moving into our area and the remote start would be handy to have in the mornings. I have replaced the batteries in the remote, and the red light on the remote comes on when pressed. When i press the remote start button, after pressing the lock button on the remote, i get nothing in the vehicle as if it doesn't communicate. No lights, no horn beeps, nothing. I have gone through and reset the MYKEY so that is not the issue. I have located the remote start module above the drivers side kick panel. I do not see any visible lights on the module.

I have searched through the threads on this site but haven't really found anything that has helped. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!!

it is the factory remote start

 

If it has a separate fob for the remote start I believe that would have been a dealer installed option. Here is a link to a manual on it if this is what you have. Maybe it will help figure out what the issue may be. Scroll through the manual and find the F150 section.

I apologize, yes it has the separate key fob so it would be a dealer installed remote start. Thanks for the Link to the manual, I'm sure it will help me figure what needs to be done in order for it to operate correctly.
I've noticed that the passenger side rear lock actuator is not working when i lock the doors so I'm assuming that is one of the issues preventing it from working properly since it thinks the door is not locked.
